Amani means peace — the standard we hold every consultation to.

Comfort

A warm, welcoming room and a specialist who listens properly. Nobody should feel rushed through a conversation about their own body.

Confidence

Evidence-based care from a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist, explained in plain language so you understand your own results and choices.

Convenience

Everything under one roof at Netcare Jakaranda — consultations, scans and procedures, with hospital facilities on hand if they are ever needed.

What we do

Specialist care, from first thoughts to fourth trimester.

One practice for the whole arc — planning a pregnancy, carrying one, recovering from one, and everything gynaecological in between.

Antenatal care

Booking visits, routine check-ups and close monitoring for high-risk pregnancies, with a plan written for your pregnancy rather than a template.

Scans & imaging

Dating, growth and anomaly scans on site, with the findings explained to you while you are still in the room.

Gynaecology

Periods, pelvic pain, contraception, infections, fibroids and menopause — discussed properly, without being rushed.

Fertility & pre-conception

Cycle tracking, pre-pregnancy health, investigation of difficulty conceiving, and honest guidance on when to escalate.

Postnatal & recovery

The six-week check done thoroughly: healing, feeding, mood, contraception and how you are actually coping.

Screening & prevention

Pap smears, HPV testing, breast examination and referral for mammography when it is indicated.

The Amani journey

Nine months is a sequence. Your care should be too.

Every stage below has its own consultation, its own checks and its own conversation.

Before

Planning

Pre-conception health, folate, chronic medication review and cycle tracking — ideally three months before trying.

Weeks 6–12

Booking visit

Your first full consultation: history, bloods, a dating scan and the care plan for the rest of the pregnancy.

Week 20

Anomaly scan

The detailed structural scan, done unhurried, with everything that is seen explained as it is found.

Weeks 24–36

Regular checks

Growth, blood pressure, glucose screening and heartbeat — monthly, then fortnightly as you get closer.

Weeks 34–36

Birth planning

Your options, your preferences, pain relief, who is in the room, and what happens if the plan changes.

Weeks 37–40

Final weeks

Weekly checks, position, readiness and a clear line to call when things start.

After

Postnatal

The six-week check for you and baby, plus a mood screen that is taken as seriously as the physical one.
